Otago Farmers Market presents: MEET THE MAKER SERIES - Preserving with Port Larder

Port Larder's variety of sauces, chutneys, jams and pesto's have evolved from Di's love of cooking and foraging in-season fruit and vegetables. Her flare for creating winning recipes has earned her several medals in both the NZ Outstanding Food Producers Awards and the NZ Artisan Awards.

Spending several years on a high country farm, cooking for shearers, meant jams and chutneys added a delicious touch to meals and initiated her passion and led to experimentation with preserves, due to their longer storage value and taste.

Come along for a night of learning easier and cheaper ways to cook for the family, as well as gaining skills to start preserving the fallen fruit off the tree in the back garden, or what  to do with the abundance of vegetables or fruit in season.
